Founded in 1967, Comm-Tronics is an established communication and security systems supplier to the healthcare industry in the Baltimore and Washington DC corridor. Our customers consist primarily of acute care hospitals and medical centers, nursing homes, assisted-living communities, outpatient clinics, convalescent centers, physician offices, rehabilitation facilities and hospices. Our products and services are tailored to healthcare and our people are hired and trained for the unique needs and challenges in this industry.
Comm-Tronics’ offices in Glen Burnie, Maryland are centrally located within our customers geography so we can provide the best and fastest response to our clients. Comm-Tronics employs about 30 people in various capacities of sales, service, administrative and management. Due to the critical needs of our healthcare clients, more than half of Comm-Tronics’ employees are in the technical support and service department.
Comm-Tronics is independently owned and operated. Therefore, our portfolio of products and services is not restricted or dependent upon any single manufacturer or supplier. Michael
R. Crider

Michael has been with the company since 1973. Over his
30+ years at Comm-Tronics, Michael has worked in all of
the departments and disciplines within the business including
installations, bench repairs, field services, service
management, sales, sales management and accounting. Back
in 1995, Michael purchased controlling interest in Comm-Tronics
from Jacqueline Laskey, one of the original founders of
the company. Michael also serves as the general manager
and Chairman of the Board.
Michael has a Bachelor’s degree from the University
of Baltimore and a Masters degree from the Johns Hopkins
University. He has earned various technical certifications
from Motorola, Mobotix, Corporate Dynamics and many others.
He has accepted awards on behalf of Comm-Tronics from
West-Com Nurse Call Systems, Motorola, Mobotix, Vicon
Industries, the Department of Treasury and many other
organizations. |
Raymond
P. Grannas
Vice President / Service

Fresh out of technical school, Ray joined Comm-Tronics
in 1987 as an installer and field service technician.
Over the years, his dedication, knowledge, motivation
and excellent work ethic have lead to promotions through
several levels of company management. Ray’s personal
and professional experiences at Comm-Tronics have provided
him with the necessary groundwork to develop the finest
technical support team in our territory. Respected by
his customers, colleagues and employees, Ray is an example
of the accomplishments and contributions an individual
can achieve through hard work and perseverance.
Ray is a graduate of the RETS technical school in Baltimore
with a concentration in electronics and microprocessors.
He is an active member in the Maryland chapter of the
International Association for Healthcare Security and
Safety (IAHSS). He has been awarded technical certifications
from Vicon Industries, Motorola, Zettler Systems and others. |
Dale
H. Kelly
Vice President / Information Systems

Dale joined the company back in 1990. He serves as our
chief technical contact on all issues related to the selection,
integration, installation, programming and training on
all of the electronic and data products that the company
represents. In addition to this, Dale also maintains the
company’s internal computer, telephony, accounting
and information systems. Though he usually works in the
background supporting the sales and technical people,
Dale has truly developed into our “secret weapon”
at Comm-Tronics.
Dale served his country in the United States Air Force
where he received numerous awards and certifications in
computer and electronics technology. Later, he earned
his Associate in Arts degree in Computer Electronics from
Dundalk Community College. Dale is an active member of
the IEEE Computer Society, the world’s leading professional
association for the advancement of technology. Dale has
also received licenses and certifications from various
technical organizations including the National Association
of Business and Educational Radio (NABER), the Federal
Communications Commission (FCC), Motorola, Sage, Vicon
Industries, Mobotix and the New Horizons computer training
institute. |
Tami
Peterson-Jones
Director of Advertising

Tami joined the company in 1994. Since that time, Tami
has excelled in every professional challenge presented
to her. From receptionist to parts clerk, from inventory
manager to her current position as Director of Advertising,
Tami has become one of the most valuable players (MVP)
at Comm-Tronics because of her willingness to wear many
hats on the job. Her broad and successful career with
the company has led to a daily line of employees at her
office door seeking information, advice and direction.
Tami holds a Bachelor in Arts in International Relations
& French from Concordia College in Moorhead, Minnesota.
She also did graduate studies in English History &
Political Philosophy at North Dakota State University.
Tami is very active in several community organizations
including the North County Emergency Outreach Network,
the Fouse Center and a local woman’s homeless shelter.

Gregory
L. Palmer
Controller

The newest member of our senior management team, Greg
is responsible for all of the accounting functions of
the company. With over 15 years of progressive accounting
management and hands-on experience, Greg will serve the
company in many areas including A/R, A/P, P&L, G/L
and Human Resource Management.
Greg earned both his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration
and his Masters in Business Administration from the University
of Missouri in Saint Louis , Missouri.
